#nonplaces

This series of photos that I present here is based on Marc Augé's concept of non-place. In his work "Non-places: Introduction to an Anthropology of Supermodernity" (1995), this French anthropologist characterizes a non-place in the context of supermodernity, describing it as a transitory urban space, in passing, where we do not live, but which we use daily, anonymously, alone.
As an architect and urban planner watchful to these phenomena, in these images my gaze tried to capture the anonymity, sometimes the solitude, of a fleeting passage through urban non-places, where, despite being more functional than relational, they also have scenic beauty, tell or inspire stories, even though they are not historical places, as defended by Augé.
