Although I live on the other side of the world, the events in Ukraine have affected me deeply. To have a democratic sovereign country invaded by an aggressor in 21st century Europe seems unfathomable. The impact on the children who have seen their parents separated, who have had their family life uprooted and their friends, schooling and community all disrupted, will have a huge affect on their physical and mental health. I am glad I can contribute in some small way to the work done by UNICEF to help these children and their families in their time of need.
