Clássico da literatura japonesa, é, segundo Ivan Morris, tradutor do Livro de Cabeceira para inglês,"by far our most detailed source of factual material on the life of the time and also a work of great literary beauty, full of lively humor and subtle impressions of the world she lived in."

Escrito no século X, durante a permanência de Sei Shonagon, enquanto dama de companhia da imperatriz Theishi, na corte imperial de Heian Kyo, hoje Kioto, Sei Shonagon escreve segundo o estilo "zuihitsu", "the brush moving with the mind", daí resultando um livro intimista, sensível e duma tristeza suave e melancólica.

Visual artists, writers, filmmakers, theater directors, architects, musicians, journalists, sculptors, cultural agents, psychologists, designers, economists, university teachers and others, accepted the challenge and abandoned their “comfort zones” and revealed to us a part of the personal gallery of selves, allowing us to penetrate a little more into their complexity, and with that, enriching the knowledge that we build about each one of them.

Openings in January, February, April, June, September and November of each year.

Pillow Book, by Sei Shonagon,

A classic of Japanese literature, it is, according to Ivan Morris, translator of Pillow Book into English,"by far our most detailed source of factual material on the life of the time and also a work of great literary beauty, full of lively humor and subtle impressions of the world she lived in."

Written in the 10th century, during Sei Shonagon's stay, as a lady-in-waiting to Empress Theishi, at the imperial court of Heian Kyo, today's Kyoto, Sei Shonagon writes in the "zuihitsu" style, "the brush moving with the mind", hence resulting in an intimate, sensitive book with a soft and melancholic sadness.

 A ESCRITA COMUM

"It makes things awfully easy that thing pop up.

It reduces everything to your brain and taste"

Estava encontrada a escrita comum.

COMMON WRITHING

When trying to find a "common writing", which was simultaneously easy and accessible, but also capable of "translating" complex thoughts and emotions, taking as a starting point "the brush moving with the mind", a phrase came from Walker Evans on Polaroid

"It makes things awfully easy that thing pop up.

It reduces everything to your brain and taste"

Common writing was found.
